Trial has been a success!
The three month trial to lock two park gates at the later time of 7pm to let people cross the park on foot or bike has been a great success. Formal parks, like Bute Park are locked half an hour before dusk; but following two years of lobbying by Cardiff Cycling Campaign and people working at Cardiff University, UWIC and the Assembly etc. the Council finally agreed to have a three month trial.
The trial period is now over and it has been agreed to continue the later locking until the clocks go forward. The gates, if you have not tried this route, are the one by the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama and gate at the Sophia Gardens Bridge. (Cllr Iona Gordon)
